As a final-year Physics and Mathematical Sciences student at the University of Eswatini, I\u2019ve spent the last few years bridging hands-on technical work with scientific computing, and I\u2019m particularly excited about applying those skills in a real AI engineering environment.\nLast year I worked as Project Technician on the university\u2019s PV solar plant, where I wasn\u2019t just maintaining inverters and upgrading the cluster controller  I also built machine learning models to analyse energy production data and forecast output. Seeing the models actually improve how we understood and optimised the system was genuinely rewarding and showed me how powerful even relatively simple ML can be when applied to real-world infrastructure problems in our region. I used Python heavily for that work, alongside pandas, scikit-learn, and some basic deep learning ideas I picked up from the Machine Learning Specialization on Coursera.\nMore recently, I joined Brookhaven National Laboratory as a Research Scholar on the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment. I\u2019ve been doing detector simulations, analysing neutrino data, running high-voltage tests on argon detector components, and performing quality assurance on cryogenic electronics. The computational side of this work handling large datasets, writing analysis scripts in Python, and using simulation tools has sharpened my ability to turn complex physics problems into clean, efficient code. I\u2019ve also gained experience with Fortran and C++ for performance-critical parts, and I\u2019m comfortable working in high-performance computing environments.\nWhat draws me to AI engineering is the chance to combine this scientific computing background with more advanced machine learning systems. Whether it\u2019s improving models for renewable energy, optimising scientific simulations, or building tools that solve practical African challenges, I\u2019m eager to contribute and learn from experienced engineers. I\u2019m a quick learner, I enjoy collaborating (as I did while mentoring students as a Teaching Assistant in Computational Physics), and I\u2019m used to juggling multiple technical tasks under tight timelines.\nI would welcome the opportunity to bring my energy, technical foundation, and genuine interest in applied AI to your team.
